HB 2759 Summary

• Prohibits individuals receiving welfare benefits (food stamps or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) from entering any casino, gambling casino, or gaming facility, except those employed by the facility performing job duties.

• Requires the Department of Human Services to submit names of disqualified persons to the State Compliance Agency quarterly for distribution to all Tribal Compliance Agencies organized under the State-Tribal Gaming Act.

• Allows the State Compliance Agency to remove a disqualified person from the list when notified by the Department that the person no longer receives any listed welfare benefits.

• Establishes criminal penalties of a fine of at least $50 and imprisonment of up to six months for violation, with forfeiture of all chips, tokens, and electronic credits in the person's possession.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
