House Bill 2797 Summary

• Directs the Oklahoma Health Care Authority to apply for a waiver or waivers from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that would allow the state to adopt eligibility criteria for its Medicaid program designed to reduce any inadvertent anti-marriage penalties.

• Prohibits the Oklahoma Health Care Authority from accepting additional federal funds in order to accomplish the purpose of reducing anti-marriage penalties in the Medicaid program.

• Creates a new law to be codified as Section 1010.14 of Title 56 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
