HB 2985 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma motor vehicle statutes to create and authorize new special license plates, including United States Navy Seabees and Civil Engineer Corps plates and plates demonstrating support for Jenks School District.

• Allows Deer Creek Schools Foundation license plates to be personalized (issued with any combination of numbers and letters from one to seven characters).

• Establishes a Hilldale Education Foundation License Plate with consultation from the foundation's administration; authorizes Tax Commission to enter into licensing agreement with fees not exceeding $20 per plate.

• Special license plate fees are $35 total: up to $20 allocated to specific organization/fund as authorized, $8 to Oklahoma Tax Commission Reimbursement Fund for administration, and remaining amount apportioned per Section 1104.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
