HB 3001 Summary

• Amends 43 O.S. 2011, Section 111.1 to address child support and visitation rights for noncustodial parents in Oklahoma

• Allows courts to suspend child support obligations if a custodial parent prevents visitation or hides the child from the noncustodial parent for more than 6 months, but noncustodial parent must continue making payments until the court orders otherwise

• Maintains that noncustodial parents must continue paying court-ordered child support even if the custodial parent refuses to allow visitation, absent good cause

• Establishes that violations of child support or visitation orders may be prosecuted as indirect civil contempt, with prevailing parties entitled to recover court costs and attorney fees

• Effective date: November 1, 2014
