HB 3056 Summary

• Modifies the apportionment of motor vehicle fees and taxes collected under Oklahoma vehicle registration and licensing laws to be distributed among school districts, state general revenue, counties, cities, and various transportation and conservation funds.

• Reduces the percentage of motor vehicle fees allocated to the General Revenue Fund from 26.84% (fiscal year 2013-2014) to 22.94% beginning July 1, 2014.

• Increases the percentage of motor vehicle fees allocated to cities and incorporated towns from 3.10% to 5% beginning July 1, 2014.

• Maintains or increases funding for school districts, county road improvement, law enforcement retirement, and wildlife conservation programs during the reapportionment.

• Declares an emergency and establishes an effective date of July 1, 2014.
