HB 3103 Summary

• Amends 57 O.S. 2011, Sections 37 and 38 relating to correctional facility capacity and jail reimbursement rates for inmate housing.

• Requires the Department of Corrections to receive sentenced inmates from county jails within 45 days of receiving the judgment and sentence, unless other arrangements are made with the sheriff.

• Increases the daily jail reimbursement rate paid by the Department of Corrections to counties from $24.00 to $27.00 per inmate (until January 1, 2015) and then to $45.00 per inmate (effective January 1, 2015).

• Makes the Department of Corrections financially responsible for housing costs in county jails from the date of sentencing until the inmate is transferred to state custody.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
