Declares May 15, 2014, as Lupus Advocacy Day in Oklahoma.

Designates May 2014 as Lupus Awareness Month in Oklahoma to support an estimated 2 million Americans and approximately 50,000 Oklahomans living with Lupus.

Recognizes that Lupus is an acute and chronic autoimmune disease affecting multiple organ systems including skin, lungs, heart, kidneys, and brain, with potential to cause seizures, strokes, heart attacks, miscarriages, and organ failure.

Notes that 90 percent of Lupus cases occur in women of childbearing age, with African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, and Asian Americans experiencing 2-3 times higher prevalence rates.

Directs distribution of the resolution to the Lupus Foundation of Oklahoma and recognizes the Lupus Foundation of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation as state and national leaders in Lupus advocacy, research, and treatment.
