Summary of Senate Bill 1104

• Amends 11 O.S. 2011, Section 49-135 to modify the maximum age requirement for fire department employment from 45 years old to 50 years old.

• Allows the State Board to establish specific maximum age limits for initial employment within the new 50-year-old cap.

• Permits persons under age 50 to apply for reemployment in fire departments with consent of the fire chief, regardless of previous age restrictions.

• Maintains exemptions for professional engineers and temporary technical specialists.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
