SB 1155 Summary

• Amends 47 O.S. 2011, Section 4-104 to establish tiered penalties for damaging or tampering with vehicles or farm equipment based on the dollar value of damage caused.

• Creates misdemeanor offense with penalties up to $5,000 fine and/or one year jail time for damage valued at $1,000 or less.

• Establishes felony offenses with increased penalties: up to $5,000 fine and/or five years imprisonment for damage valued between $1,000-$25,000; up to $10,000 fine and/or ten years imprisonment for damage exceeding $25,000.

• Adds separate felony provision for defendants with two or more prior convictions under this section, regardless of damage amount, with penalties of up to $5,000 fine and/or five years imprisonment.

• Makes law effective November 1, 2014.
