SB1174 Summary

• Creates the Department of Transportation Staffing and Consulting Task Force to study and evaluate the number of staff and consultants employed and retained by the Department of Transportation.

• Task force to consist of ten members including the Secretary of Transportation, representatives from transportation advocacy groups and road/bridge organizations, Oklahoma Management and Enterprise Services, three Senate members, and three House members.

• Members must be appointed by July 1, 2014, with legislative members serving as cochairs who will convene the first meeting.

• Task force shall submit findings and recommendations to the Governor, legislative leaders, and Oklahoma Transportation Commission by December 1, 2015, with reports prepared by Department of Transportation staff.

• Task force dissolves December 1, 2015; members serve without compensation but receive travel reimbursement; administrative support provided by Department of Transportation and legislative staff.
