SB1207 Summary

• Amends 69 O.S. 2011, Section 1510 to increase the monetary threshold for special maintenance road projects from $250,000 to $500,000.

• Projects under the new $500,000 limit should be performed by state special maintenance crews, while projects above that amount may be let to contract at the Transportation Commission's discretion.

• Exception allows special maintenance projects involving asphaltic material overlay to be contracted out if determined to be in the state's best interests.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2014, with an emergency clause declared for immediate implementation.
