SB 1222 Summary

• Amends 74 O.S. 2011, Section 840-5.12 relating to personnel at the State Department of Rehabilitation Services

• Changes language in subsection B from "does" to "shall" regarding the limit on unclassified positions, clarifying that the 52-position limit shall not include employees subject to Section 840-5.3

• Maintains existing exemptions for instructional and administrative personnel at Oklahoma School for the Blind and Oklahoma School for the Deaf, and employees of the Disability Determination Division

• Establishes that instructional and administrative personnel at the schools are considered unclassified state employees solely for personnel data management purposes unless otherwise provided by law

• Effective date: November 1, 2014
