SB 1235 Summary

• Amends 10A O.S. 2011, Section 2-6-106 to add employees of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to the list of persons who may access confidential Office of Juvenile Affairs records pertaining to children without a court order.

• Employees of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services may access these records only in the course of their official duties.

• Records accessed remain confidential and use is limited to authorized purposes; unauthorized disclosure for commercial, political, or other unauthorized purposes remains unlawful and constitutes a misdemeanor.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
