SB 1284 Summary

• Amends voting eligibility requirements in 26 O.S. 2011, Section 7-114 by modifying acceptable forms of photo identification for voting

• Adds expired Oklahoma driver licenses and expired U.S. passports as acceptable proof of identity for voting purposes

• Maintains existing exemptions for senior citizen ID cards (65+ years old with indefinite validity) and armed services identification cards from expiration date requirements

• Preserves option for voters without acceptable ID to sign an oath and cast a provisional ballot, with false swearing punishable as a felony

• Effective date: January 1, 2015
