SB 1364 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 1125 to expand restrictions on sex offenders and convicted criminals regarding zones of safety around schools, child care centers, playgrounds, and parks.

• Raises the age threshold for victim protection from under 13 years to under 16 years for persons convicted of crimes requiring sex offender registration or equivalent out-of-state offenses.

• Prohibits habitual or aggravated sex offenders from entering any park, defined as outdoor public recreational areas operated or supported by homeowner associations or governmental authorities.

• Establishes penalties of up to $2,500 fine and 1 year imprisonment for first violation, and minimum 3 years imprisonment for subsequent violations of loitering restrictions.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
