SB1375 Summary

• Authorizes the Office of Management and Enterprise Services to initiate a separate request for proposals (RFP) for construction of a facility to house Class II and Class III juveniles in a staff-secure, academic-model program using evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy and individualized treatment plans.

• Permits the Office to enter into a lease-purchase agreement for construction or acquisition of the juvenile detention facility and to contract for its management and operation.

• Grants the Office authority to promulgate rules and establish procedures necessary to implement the act and to work with other state agencies for implementation.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
