SB 1398 Summary

• Allows applicants with degrees from schools outside the United States to qualify for licensure as licensed alcohol and drug counselors, licensed professional counselors, and licensed behavioral practitioners with Board approval by providing acceptable comprehensive evaluation from a foreign credential evaluation service.

• Amends the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors Act (59 O.S. § 1876) to add new subsection K permitting foreign degree evaluation.

• Amends the Licensed Professional Counselors Act (59 O.S. § 1906) to add new subsection D permitting foreign degree evaluation.

• Amends the Licensed Behavioral Practitioner Act (59 O.S. § 1935) to add new subsection D permitting foreign degree evaluation.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
