SB 1402 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Section 1850.8 regarding mechanical licensing in Oklahoma to include consideration of military training and experience.

• Directs the Construction Industries Board to establish procedures to review and accept proof of qualified training and experience obtained through active duty service in the armed forces of the United States.

• Applies to applicants who have been discharged from active duty within one (1) year of applying for examination or licensure as a mechanical journeyman or mechanical contractor.

• Maintains existing licensing requirements for certification by the Committee of Mechanical Examiners, payment of fees, and completion of continuing education hours.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
