SB 1407 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Sections 1750.3 and 1750.6 relating to the Oklahoma Security Guard and Private Investigator Act to add grounds for immediate license suspension when a licensee's actions present danger to themselves, the public, family household members, or involve a crime against a minor.

• Requires written requests for fee refunds (other than for disqualification or denial) to be submitted within six (6) months of payment; changes terminology from "individual or agency submitting payment" to "remitter" in refund procedures.

• Maintains existing licensing fees: $50 for private investigators and unarmed security guards, $100 for armed security guards and armed private investigators, and $300 for agencies; active peace officers pay 20% of armed license fees.

• Establishes that 20% of licensing fees is retained as processing fees if applicants do not qualify, with remaining amounts refunded to remitter; individual license fees paid by agencies are refunded to the agency.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
