SB1468 Summary

• Exempts attorneys who serve as elected officials in Oklahoma from mandatory continuing legal education (CLE) requirements for any calendar year in which they hold elected office

• The exemption applies for the entire calendar year if the attorney holds an elected position for any portion of that year

• Creates a new section to be codified in Oklahoma Statutes as Section 19 of Title 5 (or next available number if duplication exists)

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014
