SB 1471 Summary

• Authorizes the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) to release fingerprint copies of deceased handgun license applicants to immediate family members upon written request.

• Requires a $15.00 payment with requests, which shall be deposited into the OSBI Revolving Fund.

• Defines "immediate family member" as spouse, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, stepsibling, or spouse of any immediate family member.

• Maintains confidentiality of all handgun license applications, renewals, photographs, fingerprints, and related information, restricting access to law enforcement only.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
