SB1514 Summary

• Modifies the Oklahoma Weigh Station Act of 2012 to clarify that a "port of entry" can be a physical facility or a virtual facility near state lines for electronically weighing and screening commercial motor vehicles

• Changes the enforcement radius around fixed weigh station facilities from seven miles to twenty-five miles for Corporation Commission motor carrier and commercial motor vehicle enforcement activities

• Extends the deadline for establishing fixed facilities from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017, during which time the Commission must continue roadside enforcement in areas without fixed facilities

• Specifies that North American Standard Inspections can only be conducted by individuals holding proper certification from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

• Authorizes interagency agreements and joint enforcement efforts between the Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, Corporation Commission, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol
