SB 1563 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Section 858-204 regarding the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission organizational structure and leadership

• Changes terminology from "chairman" and "vice-chairman" to "chair" and "vice-chair" and updates pronoun language from "his" to "or her"

• Removes the requirement that commission members organize within thirty (30) days of appointment; instead requires annual election of chair and vice-chair positions

• Streamlines language by removing the redundant phrase "as soon after the election of the chairman and vice-chairman as practicable" from provisions regarding secretary-treasurer employment

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014
