SB 1611 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Section 581 to clarify the definition of optometry practice in Oklahoma

• Changes the term "furnishing" to "equipping" when referring to self-testing devices and refracting equipment used by optometrists

• Maintains existing optometry scope including vision examination, lens prescription, contact lens fitting, laser surgery (excluding retinal procedures and LASIK), and cosmetic lid surgery

• Effective date: November 1, 2014
