SB 164 Summary

• Creates Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police License Plate Revolving Fund funded by $20 from each Chiefs of Police license plate fee, designated for law enforcement training and education throughout the state.

• Modifies World War II Veteran license plate design to include either 45th Infantry Division Thunderbird Insignia or Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard emblems with four digits for identification.

• Combines widow licenses plates for Purple Heart and Korean War veterans under expanded Gold Star Surviving Spouse category, allowing eligibility for spouses and children of qualifying veterans.

• Creates new specialized license plates including Legion of Merit Medal Recipient, Oklahomans for the Arts, Oklahoma City Barons, Oklahoma City Redhawks, Tulsa Shock, Tulsa Oilers, Tulsa Drillers, and multiple school/flag-themed plates.

• Reauthorizes Sigma Gamma Rho and BMW Car Club of America license plates effective November 1, 2013, and modifies Civil Emergency Management plate eligibility to require official affiliation documentation.
