• Removes carbon monoxide administration as an acceptable method for euthanizing animals held in shelters, effective November 1, 2014.

• Limits euthanasia methods to sodium pentobarbital injection or other methods approved by the Animal Industries Services Division that comply with American Veterinary Medical Association standards.

• Exempts municipalities with populations of 10,000 or fewer persons from certain shelter disposal requirements, though they must still use humane euthanasia methods.

• Repeals statutes relating to carbon monoxide chamber equipment and administration procedures for animal euthanasia.
