SB 1806 Summary

• Amends 40 O.S. 2011, Section 701 regarding contracts between minors and unions by changing "shall be" to "is" null and void.

• Requires any union contract or agreement with a minor must be signed and countersigned by the minor's parent or legal guardian.

• Grants minors (or their parents/guardians) the right to rescind union contracts within 90 days of execution.

• Mandates unions refund all funds collected from minors within 30 days of written notice; funds double every 30 days if not refunded.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
