SB1833 Summary

• Authorizes state agencies with more than 10 full-time employees to develop a State Employee Suggestion Program to promote efficiency and cost savings through employee suggestions.

• Allows agencies to financially reward employees whose suggestions result in direct cost savings, with award amounts determined by rules promulgated by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services.

• Limits employees to receiving no more than one award payment per fiscal year.

• Transfers administration of the Incentive Awards for State Employees program from the Committee for Incentive Awards to the Office of Management and Enterprise Services.

• Repeals sections of law related to the previous incentive awards committee structure and becomes effective July 1, 2014, with emergency clause for immediate implementation.
