Retired municipal employees may elect coverage under any health insurance plan offered by their former municipality, including plans targeted for retirees and Medicare-eligible retirees

Removes the previous 125% premium cap that limited what retired employees under age 65 could be charged compared to current employees

Municipalities may offer retirees age 65 or older various Medicare-related options including coordination of benefits plans, Medigap supplements, Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans

Retired employees must elect to participate within 30 days of termination and pay up to the full cost of coverage at rates established by the municipality
