• Creates the State Fire Sprinkler System Licensing Act, requiring persons who install, repair, or sell fire sprinkler systems in commercial or residential properties to obtain a license from the State Fire Marshal.

• Establishes licensing requirements with mandatory qualifications, experience, and examinations consistent with national codes (NFPA, BOCA, Life Safety Code); licenses valid for one-year terms with fees not exceeding $600.

• Creates the Fire Sprinkler System Revolving Fund to pay all costs of administration through collected fees; prohibits expenditures for any purpose unrelated to the act.

• Provides 90-day transition period for current fire sprinkler system workers to obtain licenses; persons currently licensed under the Fire Extinguisher Licensing Act or Alarm and Locksmith Industry Act may continue until license expiration.
