SB 2131 Summary

• Effective July 1, 2014, full-time state employees in specified job titles receive a 6.25% annualized salary increase based on their June 30, 2014 salary.

• Certain state employees in law enforcement, corrections, healthcare, and other positions receive an 8% annualized salary increase effective July 1, 2014.

• Employees on leave without pay on July 1, 2014 receive the increase upon return to work; those reinstated during July 2014 without a break in service receive the raise immediately.

• No salary increase shall exceed limitations in an agency's annual appropriation bill or the 2013 State Employee Total Remuneration Study; classified employees may exceed their pay band maximum.

• Appropriated funds for the pay increase cannot be used to increase compensation for private contract personnel providing temporary services to public agencies.
