ENR. S. B. NO. 232 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma statutes 47 O.S. 2011, Sections 2-105.4, 2-105.7, 2-105.8, and 2-106 to revise salaries for Department of Public Safety law enforcement personnel based on the State of Oklahoma Total Remuneration Study of 2013.

• Updates salary schedules for Highway Patrol Division commissioned officers (Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Trooper) and establishes new salary ranges effective provisions.

• Revises salaries for Capitol Patrol Section officers and Communications Section employees (Dispatchers, Supervisors, Superintendents, Coordinators) to align with the 2013 remuneration study findings.

• Updates Driver License Examining Division salary ranges for Driver License Examiners, Senior Examiners, Administrative Programs Officers, and Training Specialists.

• Effective date is July 1, 2014, with emergency clause declared for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
