• Creates a 10-member Task Force on Neck Manipulation to examine risks, benefits, and alternatives to cervical spine manipulation procedures, continuing until December 31, 2013.

• Task force membership includes the President of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, two chiropractic industry representatives, two state senators, two state representatives, and representatives from the Oklahoma State Medical Association, Oklahoma Osteopathic Association, and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association.

• The Senate provides staff assistance to the task force, which may meet monthly as needed with a majority quorum required for business; members receive no compensation but are reimbursed for necessary travel expenses.

• Task force shall determine the necessity of informing patients of possible side effects resulting from cervical spine treatments.

• Effective July 1, 2013, with emergency clause declared for immediate implementation.
