Senate Bill 548 - 2nd Amendment Preservation Act

• Creates the "2nd Amendment Preservation Act" declaring the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms free from infringement.

• Declares federal acts, laws, orders, rules, regulations, bans, or registration requirements regarding firearms are invalid in Oklahoma and shall be considered null and void.

• Requires the Oklahoma Legislature to adopt and enact measures to prevent enforcement of federal firearm restrictions within the state.

• Establishes criminal penalties: federal officials enforcing such measures face felony charges (up to 5 years imprisonment and/or up to $5,000 fine); Oklahoma state/local officials face misdemeanor charges (up to 2 years imprisonment and/or up to $1,000 fine).

• Declares the act an emergency measure to take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
