SB 549 Summary

• Amends 22 O.S. 2011, Section 1402 to expand the definition of "racketeering activity" under Oklahoma's RICO Act to include additional felony offenses.

• Adds new categories of crimes to the racketeering definition including exploitation of elderly persons or disabled adults, computer crimes, unlawful proceeds, insurance fraud, and workers' compensation fraud.

• Adds official misconduct under Title 74, Section 3404 and certain fraud offenses under Title 15, Section 753 and Title 18, Section 552.14a to the list of predicate acts.

• Modifies voter fraud provisions to remove references to Sections 16-118 and 16-121 from the racketeering activity definition.

• Effective date is November 1, 2013.
