SB 671 Summary

• Expands the definition of "person responsible for a child's health, safety, or welfare" in the Oklahoma Children's Code to include "any other person to which a reasonable expectation of responsibility over the child has been assigned, regardless of where this person resides"

• Broadens accountability beyond traditional caregivers (parents, guardians, custodians, foster parents, household members, facility employees) to include individuals with assigned responsibility even if they don't reside with the child

• Effective date of November 1, 2013
