ENGR. S.B. NO. 933 - Summary

• Amends 57 O.S. 2011, Section 587 regarding penalties for sex offender registration violations

• Increases minimum prison sentence from a maximum of 5 years to a minimum of 10 years and maximum of 15 years for any person required to register as a sex offender who violates the Sex Offenders Registration Act

• Maintains existing $5,000 maximum fine for registration violations

• Adds new provision creating a felony penalty for failing to comply with GPS monitoring guidelines, punishable by up to $1,000 fine and/or up to 1 year in county jail

• Effective date: November 1, 2013
