Oklahoma Legislature objects to any National Conference of Weights and Measures standards that would require natural gas motor fuels to be sold in units other than gasoline gallon equivalents (GGE) or diesel gallon equivalents (DGE)

Opposes proposals to force consumers to purchase natural gas motor fuel using the metric system (kilogram unit) instead of the consumer-friendly gallon equivalent measurements established in 1994

Adopting kilogram-based standards would create approximately $70,000 per dispenser replacement costs for natural gas fueling stations

Urges Oklahoma state officials involved with the National Conference of Weights and Measures to reject any such proposals at the July 2014 annual meeting

Directs distribution of the resolution to the Governor, Corporation Commission members, and the Executive Director of the National Conference on Weights and Measures
