SJR 33 Summary

• Directs the Secretary of State to refer a proposed amendment to Section 12 of Article II of the Oklahoma Constitution to voters for approval or rejection.

• Amends the constitutional prohibition on holding multiple offices simultaneously to create exceptions for military service members, specifically officers and enlisted members of the National Guard, National Guard Reserve, Officers Reserve Corps of the United States, Organized Reserves of the United States, Oklahoma State Guard, and any other state-organized militia or military force.

• Authorizes the Legislature to enact implementing laws to further enforce the amendment's provisions.
