SJR 63 - Summary

• Proposes a constitutional amendment to Section 40 of Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution regarding the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust Fund

• Deletes obsolete language concerning the appointment and term requirements for members of the Board of Investors and Board of Directors (removes references to "staggered terms" for initial appointees)

• Changes "initial appointees" language to "appointees" for both boards to reflect current operational practice

• Directs the Secretary of State to refer the amendment to voters for approval or rejection with a specified ballot title

• Requires the President Pro Tempore of the Senate to file the resolution with the Secretary of State and Attorney General immediately upon passage
