Congratulates Jane C.K. Fitch, M.D., on her election as the 2014 president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), making her only the second woman to hold this position since the organization was established in 1905

Dr. Fitch serves as professor and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, with additional leadership roles in the OU College of Medicine and OU Medical System

She previously served as the 2013 president of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists and held positions on the ASA Executive Committee as first vice president and president-elect

Dr. Fitch completed her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesiology at the University of Washington, after earlier careers as an ICU nurse and nurse anesthetist

Directs a copy of the resolution be distributed to Dr. Fitch to recognize her contributions to medicine in Oklahoma
