Senate Resolution No. 46

• Commemorates the 100th anniversary of YWCA Tulsa on December 2, 2014, recognizing the organization's efforts to promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

• Acknowledges YWCA Tulsa's founding in 1914 and its integral role serving women and families in the Tulsa area for one century.

• Recognizes YWCA Tulsa's response to the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot by opening a center in north Tulsa to provide shelter and support to African-American women made homeless by the riot.

• Honors YWCA Tulsa's current programs in health and wellness, immigrant and refugee services, racial justice, women's empowerment and inclusion training.

• Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to YWCA Tulsa.
