Oklahoma Senate Resolution 51 recognizes Clay McDonald, Piedmont High School assistant principal, as the 2014 Oklahoma Assistant Principal of the Year, named by the Oklahoma Association of Secondary School Principals

McDonald became the first Oklahoman named a finalist for the NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year award, placing him among the top three assistant principals in the nation

McDonald has served 19 years as an Oklahoma educator, including 14 years as an assistant principal at Choctaw High School, McKinney Independent Schools, and Piedmont High School

He developed several school improvement initiatives including the P.A.W.S. program (Preparing All Wildcats for Success), a High Schools That Work grant program, and ACT preparation courses and professional development for teachers
