Congratulates Oklahoma City on its 125th birthday on April 22, 2014.

Recognizes that Oklahoma City was settled on April 22, 1889, when approximately 10,000 Boomers claimed free public land in a single day and established a commercial and transportation hub.

Acknowledges significant milestones in the city's history including becoming Oklahoma's state capital in 1910, adopting a council-manager form of government in 1927, and growth as a center for oil, gas, commerce, and defense.

Recognizes the city's recovery from economic decline in the 1980s through the MAPS program (1993) and resilience following the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be distributed to Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett.
