HB 1189 Summary

• Appropriates funds from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor for fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, to perform duties imposed by law.

• Allows appropriations (excluding capital outlay) to be budgeted for either FY-16 or FY-17, but prohibits budgeting the same funds in both fiscal years simultaneously.

• Requires FY-16 funds to be encumbered by June 30, 2016, and expended by November 15, 2016; any remaining funds lapse unless budgeted for FY-17.

• Requires FY-17 funds to be encumbered by June 30, 2017, with remaining funds lapsing after November 15, 2017.

• Allows unused FY-16 funds to be re-budgeted for FY-17 only after the agency submits a budget work program revision approved by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services; becomes effective July 1, 2015.
