HB 1248 Summary

• Department of Transportation authorized to expend funds from the State Transportation Fund during fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, with amounts transferred to the State Highway Construction and Maintenance Fund.

• Department must expend minimum amounts from construction funds for roads to existing industrial sites and economic development purposes, and for construction, maintenance, and repair of roads to historical sites and lake access roads.

• Director of the Office of State Finance directed to transfer specified funds from the State Highway Construction and Maintenance Fund to the Public Transit Revolving Fund.

• Department authorized to use available funds to match federal disaster relief funds under P.L. 93-288 for repairing, restoring, reconstructing, or replacing public transportation facilities, with coordination through the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management.

• Appropriations may be budgeted for fiscal year 2016 or 2017, with encumbrance deadlines of June 30 in their respective years and expenditure deadlines of November 15, with remaining funds lapsing to proper funds; act becomes effective July 1, 2015.
