HB 1261 Summary

• Male applicants ages 16-25 applying for an original, renewal, or replacement driver license or identification card must consent to registration with the Selective Service System, with applicant information forwarded to the Selective Service System's Data Management Center.

• Applicants refusing to sign the Selective Service consent statement shall be denied a driver license or identification card.

• Applicants providing an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number instead of a social security number must submit a valid unexpired passport or consular identification document and proof of Oklahoma residency for 12 or more months.

• Existing driver license holders whose license number is their social security number must be assigned a computer-generated alphanumeric identification upon renewal or replacement after the effective date.

• A valid and unexpired Oklahoma driver license serves as both primary and secondary proofs of identity for identification card applications, superseding certain provisions of Title 21 Section 1550.42.
