HB 1296 Summary

• Enacts the "Steven Stokes Disability Concerns Act" requiring the Oklahoma Tax Commission to offer online renewal and registration for five-year disability placards and Physically Disabled License Plates.

• Authorizes the Oklahoma Tax Commission and Department of Public Safety to exchange records and information necessary to implement online renewal provisions.

• Allows persons with expired five-year placards to renew through the Oklahoma Tax Commission online system in addition to in-person renewal at the Department of Public Safety.

• Permits replacement of lost or destroyed five-year placards through an online system administered by the Oklahoma Tax Commission with the same expiration date as the original placard.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
