HB 1394 Summary

• Amends the Oklahoma Wind Energy Development Act to require wind energy facility owners to notify the Corporation Commission of the commercial generation date for project tracking purposes.

• Requires owners to provide notification of forthcoming construction at least six months prior to commencement to the Corporation Commission, relevant county clerks, municipal governing bodies, and newspapers of general circulation in the project area.

• Mandates public notices include the facility name, owner and developer contact information, facility boundary maps by county, approximate commercial generation date, and a list of school district sites within facility boundaries.

• Applies requirements to wind energy facilities entering into or renewing power purchase agreements on or after November 1, 2015, or to facilities commencing construction on or after the effective date if not operating under a power purchase agreement.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
