HB 1409 - Summary

• Increases the informed consent waiting period for abortion from 24 hours to 72 hours before the procedure in Oklahoma

• Requires pregnant women to receive specified information about medical risks, gestational age, and available support services at least 72 hours before abortion by telephone or in-person consultation with a physician

• Mandates abortion facilities with websites publish a link to the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision's website (www.awomansright.org) containing informed consent materials about fetal development

• Expands reporting requirements for physicians performing abortions to include detailed statistics on procedures, patient demographics, methods used, and complications

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015
